With the most years of experience in memory care, Vista Cove at Rancho Mirage staff members provide compassionate and personalized services to each resident with cognitive impairment. With the leadership of our CEO, Executive Director, Director of Resident Services, and Medical Director, who combined have more than 100 years’ experience, our team is trained and mentored in caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
Floyd Rhoades, MDiv
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
After serving as a PCUSA minister for more than seven years, Floyd Rhoades embarked on a career as a long-term care executive and worked in various leadership capacities with national companies. His experience includes working with public, private and new start-up organizations as well as leading an initial public offering before becoming the CEO of Vista Cove Senior Living, a company he and his investment partners founded in 2003. In addition to his duties as Chief Executive Officer of Vista Cove at Rancho Mirage, Floyd is a part-time pastor of SERVE Ministries at the Palm Desert Community Presbyterian Church. He received his BA from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and M. Div. degree from the McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois. Floyd’s interests include volunteering in his community. He is past chair of the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission Board of Directors (2010-2018), a member of the Board of Directors for Riverside County Desert Mental Health and an Advancement Board Member of the California State University, Palm Desert Campus.
Jack Poyfair, LVN
Executive Director
A Licensed Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) Administrator, Jack Poyfair, LVN, is the Executive Director of Vista Cove at Rancho Mirage. Prior to his Executive Director position which he started in September 2004, Jack worked for the Visiting Nurse Association Hospice in Palm Desert and Southcentral Foundation Family Medicine Clinic in Anchorage, Alaska. Jack decided to become nurse at an early age because of his experience in watching a hospice nurse take care of his father. He received his LVN license from the Emily Griffith Opportunity School in Denver, Colorado. He enjoys cooking, hiking and spending time with his rescue dog, Denver.
Rebecca Giordano, LVN
Director of Resident Services
The Director of Resident Services for Vista Cove at Rancho Mirage, Rebecca Giordano is a licensed vocational nurse and is certified as a Residential Care for the Elderly (RCFE) Administrator. She received her nursing license from Concorde Career Institute in North Hollywood, California. Rebecca has worked in almost all areas of nursing since 1997 and has always preferred working with geriatric patients. Her grandfather had Alzheimer’s, so her experience with helping him led to a career of providing care and support for individuals with memory loss and their family members. She joined Vista Cove in July 2005, which was her first job in an assisted living setting. She loves to spend time with her family, travel and entertain.
Gerry Neighbors
Director of Marketing & Community Relations
The Director of Marketing & Community Relations for Vista Cove at Rancho Mirage, Gerry Neighbors has the privilege to walk beside our families in their journey with their loved ones as they join our memory care community. Gerry certified as a Residential Care for the Elderly (RCFE) Administrator. She received her Bachelors Degree in Marketing with a Minor in Art from California State University, Fullerton and joined Vista Cove in May 2021. Gerry loves to volunteer in our community, cook and most of all, spend time with her family. Caring for people is one of Gerry's innate personality traits.
Clifton Cole, M.D.
Medical Director
Dr. Cole began his career in private practice from 1981-2011. From 2011 to present Dr. Cole's focus is memory care and is a hospice & palliative medicine specialist serving the Coachella Valley. Dr. Cole graduated from Loma Linda University, Medical School in 1981 and is board certified in Family Practice, Hospice Medical Director, Hospice Care and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Cole is passionate about getting involved where he can within our community and is an advisor board member of Alzheimer's Coachella Valley.
Ruth Barnard
Business Office Manager
Ruth joined Vista Cove on September 1, 2020 as our Business Office Manager. Originally from Texas, she moved to California shortly after graduating high school and decided to stay in California and raise her 3 boys with her husband. Ruth has been in the Customer service & hospitality industry for many years and moved her way up to management, leading her to Vista Cove. Ruth loves spending time with her family, camping, hitting the beach and watching sports.
Anita Correa
Dining Services Director
Anita has been working at Vista Cove as our Dining Services Director since 2005 and is a licensed CNA & HHA. She enjoys planning and preparing healthy meals for our residents, respite and day program friends. Anita grew up with a heart to help seniors. At the age of 13, she would happily help her senior neighbors, one of whom helped raise her. Life has come full circle for Anita. Anita has 3 beautiful and very independent children. One of Anita's hobbies is working out with her workout crew. Their workout pledge is, "The best things happen when you are out of your comfort zone." Anita continues to work hard being healthy, working out and staying positive at all times.
Selene Martinez
Life Enrichment Activities Program Director
Selene has been working with Vista Cove as our Activities Director since 2013 and brings a wealth of experience in caring for people through activities. Selene calls on her training to ensure that Vista Cove residents and staff continue to thrive physically, spiritually, emotionally and socially. On a daily basis, Selene is facilitating our Namaste and LEAP programming at Vista Cove. Selene collaborates closely with our CEO and ongoing training through workshops with Teepa Snow. Selene shares a genuine passion for bringing joy to our residents and day program client's lives through activities.
Alex Arrendondo
Maintenance Director
Alex began working at Vista Cove in 2018 as a caregiver and was promoted to our Maintenance Director in January, 2023. Alex has been keeping Vista Cove in tact ever since. Alex was born and raised in Thermal, graduating from Desert Mirage High School. While in school, Alex played all varsity in soccer, football and baseball. Alex is busy raising his son and enjoying every minute of it. In his spare time, Alex plays sports with friends and follows his favorite quarterback, Aaron Roberts. So Alex went from a Packers fan to a New York Jets fan! Go Jets!
Pat Kaplan
Consultant and Alzheimer's Advocate
Pat Kaplan is a co-founder of Alzheimers Coachella Valley, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, whose mission is to provide charitable services and support for persons with impaired cognition. Pat received her BA in Sociology from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington and Gerontology Certificate from the University of California at Riverside and is licensed by the State of California as an Administrator for Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly. She also works as a consultant with Vista Cove at Rancho Mirage, providing Dementia training for staff and assisting with community relations initiatives.
